Inventory

Your Products & Suppliers

System supplier products are based on the data provided by the supplier/manufacturer. The data obtained is sent through via supplier catalogues, which then pull through into Pi. User-managed suppliers work differently, meaning it is your duty to ensure that the product data is kept up-to-date. In some cases you can update supplier products, such as, adding your preferred product description.

This article will highlight areas to help you manage both types of products.

Getting Started

  1. Select the Inventory module from the left-hand navigation bar
  2. Select Products
  3. Use the available search functions to find the product you require to edit
  4. Click Edit to continue

Preferred Product Description

If required, you can update the product description to something that may help you understand what you are ordering, or to better identify that product. Make sure to save any changes:

Adding your preferred description will update that product throughout some of the modules you use in Pi. These are identified by the 'i' icon - hovering over that will show the original description:

Product Ordering

When editing a product, under the Site & pricing tab, you can control which of your sites can order that product through Cherry Pi. Simply deselect the checkboxes to stop sites from being able to find that product, therefore, not be able to order it. This is also available for your user-managed suppliers and products (providing accounts have been set up and supplier ordering has been enabled):

This action can be done in bulk or site by site.

Allergens & Nutrition

You can view allergens and nutritional data provided for system supplier products. Last updated dates will also be advised. For user-managed suppliers, this is where you can update and manage the allergens and nutritional data for products you have added:

Ingredient Labelling (PPDS)

Natasha's Law.

From 1 October 2021, the requirements for Pre-Packed for Direct Sale (PPDS) food labelling changed. Any business that produces PPDS food is required to label packaging with the name of the food and a full ingredients list, emphasising any allergenic ingredients.

The example below is for 'Rindless Back Bacon'. Using the product packaging, the ingredients have been added. Due to there being no allergens in this product, we do not need to highlight any in bold.

You can also bulk manage your products by using the Tools drop-down within the Products page, and selecting Import/Export PPDS data:

View the PPDS article for more information. This set up is manual and required for ALL product types.
